APRIL 2018 - UMCOR Sunday

"Pack the Pews" for Minnesota Food Share Campaign

Now through March 31, bring in non-perishable items to help restock the local food shelf. Place donations in bags or boxes and place them in the back pews on the side you usually sit. At the end of the month, it will be determined which side pack their side more. Last year, the sides ended in a tie.

Cash donations are accepted as they provide purchasing power for perishable items. Please make checks payable to Bethlehem UMC. On the memo line or envelope, write "Food Shelf."

We accept cash donations and collect non-perishable food for the Food Shelf throughout the year. Place non-perishable items in the baskets designated "Food Shelf" in the entryway. Cash donations may be mailed, placed in an offering plate or dropped off in the church office.

March is the only time that donations are matched.

Sunday, March 4, members and friends of Bethlehem joined together to pack 720 United Methodist Committee on Relief Health Kits and School Bags. The school bags were packed with school supplies. Each health kit contains a hand towel, a washcloth, a comb, a nail clipper, a bath-size soap bar, 1 toothbrush and adhesive bandages.  These items will be distributed by the Midwest Mission Distribution Center, a disaster relief facility located south of Springfield, Illinois. The school bags will be distributed to places in the United States. The Health Kits will be distributed where needed throughout the world.

Those who like to sew are invited to make one strap school bags. These bags will be filled with school supplies that are sent to those in need locally, nationally, and internationally.  http://www.midwestmission.org/projects/projects   Pattern and materials to sew are available at Bethlehem.
